My final animation for University. The aim was to visualise the emotional pain of depression through expressionistic animation, and to depict how loneliness can harm the human soul.

Even though the subject of depression is a sensitive one, using my own personal experiences as a guide will hopefully give a message of hope to viewers.

The inner suffering is manifested through the natural force of a Volcano, to then show that sharing pain with others can relieve it and bring you back to life.

I never thought I’d do an animation about depression but it just kind of felt right to do it, so I hope it gives others an idea of what it’s like from my own perspective.
